Summer has almost arrived to the Jewellery Quarter, which means the ice cream truck is just around the corner, everyone is taking their lunch break in Golden Square and Saint Paul’s Square is the official tanning spot for JQ residents and visitors alike.
If you love the Jewellery Quarter as much as we do, you know the area is a great summer spot. Here are a few events to look forward to this month in the Jewellery Quarter:
If you live in the Jewellery Quarter or love to visit the area, you must have heard about the Rebel Chicken by now. In their own words they ‘do one thing and (they) do it well, Chicken’ and they have taken the Quarter by storm since their opening last year. Well if you are already a loyal fan of the Rebel Chicken or if you are simply a chicken aficionado, you can’t miss their first birthday.
Join the Chicken Masters for a weekend of good music, good food and the launch of their brand new beer garden. What’s more? Entry will be free and they will be offering a 30% off all food and drinks for the whole weekend.

We don’t know about you, but we really know it’s summertime when the JQ Festival returns. Every year, the JQ Festival has grown in size and extravagance to give JQ residents and visitors a real feel of summer. It is perfect for families, couples and friends alike. Every year there is a special corner for the little ones with face painting, Scalextric, storytelling and more. Whilst adults can enjoy two full days of live music and delicious food and drinks.
The theme this year will be celebrating the heritage and diversity of the Quarter and, to mark the 200th anniversary of the death of James Watt, there will be a variety of science activities, along with plenty of guest speakers and local businesses showing off their latest creations.
